Position Description

Eagle Nest Community School is looking for a self-motivated, part-time Coordinator based out of the Eagle Nest Elementary and Middle Schools in Eagle Nest, NM.  This position will facilitate and lead the collaborative process and development of a continuum of services for children, families and community members.  The Eagle Nest Community School (CS) is funded by a grant from the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED).  This a growth opportunity for a qualified individual who would be dedicated to our mission of community, student and parent growth.  The CS Coordinator will be the liaison to the Eagle Nest Elementary and Middle School Principal and its participating teachers; the Cimarron Municipal School (CMS) Superintendent, accountants and procurement staff; participating community leaders; CS volunteers and NMPED.  The CS Coordinator will have access to at least three senior-level mentors who are experienced with the Eagle Nest CS mission, the Community School Framework, the specific projects, NMED reporting systems, and financial and procurement tracking tools.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leverage the community school framework and pillars to run the Eagle Nest Community School,
  • Serve as the CS liaison with all participants and community partners,
  • Contact parents and community partners, and schedule students for the projects,
  • Support the CS project procurement process with requisitions, coordinate with vendors, receive/receipt school deliveries and update the CS financial and procurement tracking Excel workbook,
  • Organize the Community School (CS) projects to track project status and troubleshoot any issues, e.g., with funding or schedules, 
  • Communicate with the CS project managers to track project status,
  • Schedule, attend and lead all CS meetings, 
  • Coordinate school staff, identify volunteers, and solicit donations for sustainability,
  • Gather, organize and post community needs assessments and survey results, 
  • Update the CS website, 
  • Run reports from and input data to various CMS and NMPED systems and workbooks,
  • Develop and/or update CS tracking and reporting spreadsheets, and
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Mid-level expertise in MS Word software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint,
  • Ability to input data and run reports in CMS and NMPED systems, after hands-on training, 
  • Ability to make unbiased data driven decisions,
  • Interpersonal verbal and written communication skills,
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and
  • Problem-solving skills within a dynamic team setting.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree is preferred, but not required.
